And so here we are...
23 months after entering the MTC (Missionary Training Center). We have served the Lord, met a lot of people who we now call friends and grown immensely. We feel honored to be in the support position for all the missionaries and mission president.
The time seemed to fly. We would go into the Texas Lubbock Mission office on Monday, turn around and it would be Friday. All in all, it was a great experience. Cheryl, being the mission secretary, took care of all the paperwork necessary to keep the office and mission running smoothly. Eugene was in charge of housing, finance and telephones. We have done our best.
Did we miss our family back home? Of course we did! But we know they were blessed as much as we were. Would we go again? Yes! In a heart beat. Would we recommend it to others? Absolutely!
As many of you have noticed, I am not a great orator. So I have tried to share our mission using pictures. Often, as advised, I have left names off out for protection of the individual. But I hope you have all enjoyed sharing our mission with us. We are home now so this will be the last post to our "Texas Carbine's" Blog. Thanks to all of you for your love and support.
After a days drive we settled in for the night in Albuquerque, NM. When we woke up the next morning and opened the curtains, we were greeted by three hot air balloons floating in the air out side of our window.
Our last night on the road we spent in Provo, UT. We had a surprise the next morning for our daughter Janene. She was running in a 1/2 Marathon from Provo Canyon down to the new LDS temple in Provo. We were waiting for her when she came across the finish line. We were so proud of her and she was sooooo surprised. And obviously, she cried!
And what was in the back of the trailer we were pulling? Well 17 pairs of cowboy boots of course!!!

Final Days in the Mission Field
Dan and LeAnn Unger became our best friends in the mission field. They were more than office buddies. We worked together, laughed together, ate together, solved problems together and yes, occasionally fumed together! All in all, they were a wonderful part of our mission.

Interesting Discoveries
While heading for a town called "Earth", we came across a town called "Halfway". We assumed that meant we were halfway to Earth.
The one thing we hated about Texas & New Mexico were the bugs!
You certainly couldn't miss this muffler shop!
Pictures truly are worth a 1000 words! 'Nuff said.
